I have a life-long commitment to working within music and the arts, with a particular focus on children and young people’s participation in music. I’m passionate about the power of the arts as a means for self-expression, engagement and wellbeing, and for the difference they can make to individuals, communities and society.

I combine my strengths of creativity, strategic thinking and communication skills with my extensive experience. From devising to evaluating programmes of work, I also have a strong understanding of fundraising, project management, safeguarding and finance. I have a love of creativity and new music and have always sought out ways to facilitate its creation, including through the support of the next generation.
Starting out as a primary and SEN/D music teacher, I quickly discovered that working behind the scenes as a project manager and fundraiser was what I thrived on. I went on to work for Drake Music, Harrow Council (Senior Arts Officer) the Philharmonia Orchestra (Head of Community and Education) and Sound and Music (Head of Education) amongst others.
A period of freelancing between 2004 and 2013 included a huge range of projects including for BBC Classical Music, Harrow Music Service, Music Alive, Southbank Centre, Darwin Music Theatre Project, National Youth Jazz Collective, London Sinfonietta and Eye Music (Colourscape).
Since 2022, I have had a portfolio of freelance work that includes Executive Director for Liquid Listening, a small but growing charity that provides the unique practice of Musical Hydrotherapy for people with disabilities and complex needs, and External Evaluator for Young Sounds UK.
In 2024, I gained Advanced Practitioner status in coaching through Guildhall Ignite and am now developing a coaching practice alongside my other work.
When not working, I’m an active and enthusiastic cellist, regularly playing orchestral and chamber music. I’m Chair of my local primary school’s Community Council (the academy equivalent of being chair of governors) and a trustee of the Friends of Centre for Young Musicians and Kensington Symphony Orchestra.
